Chapter 7. ‘Only the Sufferers Know How their Bellies Ache.’ San Francisco 03.2017. I had to wait a long time to finish filming this final chapter of Drone Drama. Winter storms kept me from moving around beneath the San Francisco freeway ramps. By the time I got there, I was informed the city was removing the north side of the freeway camps where the 'drug-users' lived. The south side, the 'non-drug-users-just-homeless' side, was visibly frantic about the possibility of losing their much cleaner camps. "…it's a game," a man said drinking beer, with his canoe and giant teddy bear, hanging back and waiting for the city workers and police to leave so they could return. The link between the homeless, drone drama and tech corporations in the most expensive city in the USA, continues to be interesting to examine: San Francisco Peninsula, Silicon Valley, once home base to the Vietnam war defense contract industry, and previously greatest WWII ship builders in the world, is now the highly militarized bio-tech industry.

... greetings from Club Paradise, a new series about the vacation industry... beginning with the entire SENT story in postcards that you can read starting here... https://mailartdossier.blogspot.com/2018/11/sent-postcards-from-club-paradise.html and here at this site...
Sent 2018 is an experimental mail art project with Jeff Crouch from Club Paradise in production... The postcard messages are a secret story without beginning or end. Is a card lost in the mail? Who is writing to whom? What are the motives of writer and recipient? The writing on the back of the cards suggest a narrative different from the usual holiday tourist seeking memories to consume later. Influenced by Derrida’s Postcard, the cards are a secret that serves a purpose we can never know.
