Cecelia Chapman is from San Francisco and living in Massachusetts. Her art practice concerns perception, the power of image and the long range effect on consciousness.
Her work crosses documentary and experimental borders merging photography, essay, design and video. She has made over ninety short videos in series, as well as many works on paper and panel supported by essay. She often collaborates with other artists.
The 2016-2017 collaboration Drone Drama: Music for the Dead with Berlin based composer Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt examines the defense contract and technology culture that supports the world’s fifth largest economy, California.
At present she is living in Cape Cod where she is working on Club Paradise investigating vacation culture at the crossroads of capitalism and consciousness.
