Cecelia Chapman is an American artist working in painting, film, constructions, and essay-based projects. “I am interested in consciousness and its attempts to reconcile the unseen, synchronicity, the possibility of accident, and the absurd unpredictability and impermanence of life.”
Recent painting experiments in producing a contemplative state. Projects evolve from Chapman’s relationship with the environment and lived experience. Current project ongoing, MauMau Blood Dreams, pursues the origins of narrative and rewrites new stories.
